Kishtwar: The District Administration Kishtwar has made RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) registration mandatory for all devotees participating in the Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026 to enhance safety and improve crowd management.

The initiative is being implemented under the supervision of Divisional Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar, with execution led by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Pankaj Kumar Sharma.

Officials said the registration process will commence from April 18, 2026.

The RFID system will enable real-time monitoring of pilgrim movement along the Yatra route, help regulate crowd flow, and facilitate quick response during medical or weather-related emergencies. It will also create a digital database to ensure better tracking and accountability of pilgrims.

Registration counters have been set up at Gauri Shankar Temple, Sarkoot, Kishtwar, and the Gulabgarh base camp in Paddar to assist devotees.

The administration has advised all pilgrims to complete registration before starting the Yatra and to follow official guidelines during the pilgrimage.

Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma said the move aims to ensure a safe and well-managed Yatra, urging devotees to cooperate with authorities.
