Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir: JK Public School Kunjwani marked Budh Purnima with a meaningful special assembly, emphasising the relevance of Gautama Buddha’s teachings in today’s world.
The programme, organised on April 30, highlighted key principles such as peace, compassion, non-violence and self-discipline—values associated with Lord Buddha’s life and philosophy.
School Principal Shuchi Gupta, Vice Principal Inderjeet Kour and other faculty members attended the event along with students. The assembly opened with a prayer, setting a reflective tone for the programme.
Students participated through poetry recitations and presentations that traced the journey of Prince Siddhartha to Buddha, focusing on his renunciation, quest for truth and attainment of enlightenment. The performances highlighted the importance of inner awareness and ethical living.
Teachers said such activities play a key role in value-based education, helping students connect with moral teachings beyond textbooks.
The event concluded with a message encouraging students to adopt compassion, mindfulness and responsible behaviour in daily life.
