SRINAGAR, Feb 17: A Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, on Monday found two former Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank — Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh and Parvaiz Ahmad Nengroo — along with other bank officials, guilty in connection with alleged backdoor appointments made in Jammu and Kashmir Bank. The court observed that sufficient material exists to proceed against the accused and directed that formal charges be framed on the next date of hearing.
The case dates back to 2019, when the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) received a pseudonymous complaint alleging irregular and backdoor appointments of Bank Attendants and Assistant Bank Associates in J&K Bank Ltd.
The court ordered that formal charges shall be framed against the accused during the next hearing. The matter has been listed for further proceedings on March 10, 2026.
