NEW DELHI, Apr 16:
In a key administrative development, Ajit Roy, a 2013-batch IAS officer of the AGMUT cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi under the Central Staffing Scheme.
The appointment follows his recommendation for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. As per official details, Ajit Roy will serve in the post for a tenure of four years from the date of assuming charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
According to the order accessed by Cross Town News, he has been directed to be relieved immediately from his current responsibilities to take up the new assignment in the MHA, Delhi.
The order further highlights that, as per directions of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) conveyed through the Department of Personnel and Training circular dated August 17, 2005, the officer must join within three weeks of the issuance of the appointment order. Failure to do so may result in debarment from the Central Staffing Scheme.
However, the order clarifies that if the officer is currently engaged in election-related duties, he may be relieved only after obtaining due clearance from the Election Commission of India to assume his new role.
