Jammu: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday emphasized the need to build an India envisioned by freedom fighters—one where every section of society participates in the nation’s progress. Speaking at a statue unveiling ceremony of social worker Vijay Bahadur Singh in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, Sinha said India is steadily advancing toward becoming a developed nation, with the Vision 2047 goal representing a collective national resolve.
Paying tribute to Vijay Bahadur Singh, founder of Mahamandaleshwar Shri Bal Krishna Yati Inter College, the Lieutenant Governor described him as a “true karma yogi” who dedicated his life to service without seeking recognition. He noted that Singh’s efforts in establishing the institution in 1974, despite limited resources, reflected a deep belief in education as a tool for social transformation. “He did not build for himself but for future generations,” Sinha said, urging society to carry forward such ideals.
Highlighting the importance of nation-building through service and sacrifice, Sinha said India’s development journey has gained momentum under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out that government initiatives have moved beyond statistics to deliver real impact at the grassroots level.
The Lieutenant Governor cited major achievements, including housing for crores of families, expanded road connectivity, and the rapid growth of airports across the country. He also underlined the role of the digital revolution in India, which has connected marginalized communities by providing access to banking, identity systems, and mobile-based financial services.
Sinha further stressed that education reforms in India, including new schools, universities, and the National Education Policy, are empowering youth and preparing them to lead the country’s future. He highlighted improved access to education for girls, calling it a significant step toward women empowerment in India.
“Education today is not just about passing exams but about creating aware and responsible citizens,” he said, adding that innovation and research are key to shaping a progressive society.
The event underscored the importance of inclusive growth, grassroots development, and education-driven empowerment as India works toward its long-term goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
