DC Udhampur Calls for People-Centric Governance, Reviews Departmental Functioning

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 27: After assuming charge as Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur, Minga Sherpa today convened an introductory meeting with officers of various line departments at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review administrative functioning and developmental priorities in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore, Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh, PO Poshan Subash Dogra, GM DIC Kishore Singh Katoch, Chief Planning Officer Uttam Singh, ACR Dr. Umesh Shan, along with other senior district and sectoral officers.

During the interaction, the Deputy Commissioner sought comprehensive feedback from departmental heads regarding the performance of their respective offices, progress on key government schemes, and the implementation status of ongoing developmental initiatives.

Emphasising responsive and citizen-centric governance, the DC stressed the need to adopt a people-friendly approach in all government offices across the district. He directed officers to ensure that public dealings are handled with transparency, efficiency, and empathy.

Calling for an action-oriented work culture, Minga Sherpa instructed officers to prioritise the prompt redressal of public grievances and proactively ensure the availability of essential services and basic amenities to the people.

He further urged departments to closely monitor ongoing developmental works, maintain strict quality standards, adhere to timelines, and strive to achieve set targets to accelerate overall district development.

The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that coordinated efforts, accountability, and field-level monitoring would be key to delivering effective governance and ensuring tangible benefits reach the grassroots.
