Jammu: On Wednesday Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presented 13 Demands for Grants and 19 Supplementary Demands to the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather put these demands before the House for discussion.
While presenting the Demands for Grants Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said, “I move that the Government gets a sum not more than the amount mentioned in Demand Nos. 1 3 4 6 8 9 10 14 19 20 24 31 And 33 to pay for the expenses during the year ending March 31 2027 for the departments listed.”
The Demands for Grants are related to departments under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, such as General Administration, Planning and Finance. Other departments include Power, Law & Justice and Tourism.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also moved 19 Supplementary Demands. He said, “I also move that the Government gets a sum not more than the amount mentioned in Supplementary Demand Nos. 1 2 3 6 7 8 10 12 13 17 18 19 20 25 26 30 32 35 And 36 to pay for the expenses during the year ending March 31 2026 for the listed departments.”
The discussion on the Demands for Grants will continue on February 18 and 19. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will reply to the discussion on February 19 afternoon. After that the Demands for Grants will be voted on. Passed through a voice vote, in the House.
