Manoj Sinha on Monday handed over appointment letters to the Next of Kin (NoKs) of victims of terrorism and deceased government employees at a function in Srinagar, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to justice and rehabilitation for affected families.
The appointments were provided under the Jammu and Kashmir Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme-2022 and SRO 43, which allow eligible family members of terrorism victims and deceased government employees to receive government jobs as part of rehabilitation measures.
Addressing the gathering, the Lieutenant Governor said the administration remains committed to supporting families who lost their loved ones to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. He described the initiative as part of ongoing efforts to ensure dignity, financial stability, and long-term support for victims’ families.
“Ensuring justice and rehabilitation for terror victims’ families is our responsibility,” Sinha said, adding that the government is working to review pending cases related to victims of terrorism. He also noted that the administration is addressing issues such as illegal encroachments on properties belonging to victims’ families.
Focus on Rehabilitation and Welfare
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted that the administration is focusing on comprehensive rehabilitation measures for victims and their families. These include employment opportunities, housing support, and access to essential services.
Special attention, he said, is being given to individuals who sustained disabilities due to terror incidents. The government is working to ensure that such victims receive necessary medical care, rehabilitation support, and assistance under various welfare schemes.
Commitment to Counter Terrorism
Sinha also emphasized the administration’s resolve to counter terrorism and maintain peace in the Union Territory. He called for collective efforts from society to stand united against forces attempting to create divisions.
Officials said the appointment letters distributed during the event represent another step toward strengthening support systems for families affected by violence in the region.
Officials Attend the Event
The programme was attended by senior government officials, representatives of various departments, and organizations working for the welfare of victims of terrorism. Their participation reflected coordinated efforts by the administration to address the needs of affected families.
Government’s Broader Vision
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has been implementing a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening social welfare and economic stability in the region. Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the government has emphasized development, security, and social justice as key priorities for the Union Territory.
The Lieutenant Governor said the administration will continue to work toward building a secure and inclusive society where victims of terrorism receive justice and support.
