NEW DELHI: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of spreading misinformation and mistrust instead of expressing confidence in India’s growth trajectory.

In a statement, Chugh said that rather than supporting the country’s economic, structural, social, and global initiatives, the Congress was engaged in a campaign of “lies, deceit, and mistrust.” He claimed that the opposition’s criticism stemmed from discomfort over India’s rapid progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

“The problem for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress is that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving forward decisively. They feel threatened by India’s growing Aatmanirbhar economy, strong foreign policy, and expanding international trade agreements with Europe, Africa, and the United States,” Chugh said.

Highlighting India’s global standing, he added that the country is witnessing rapid economic development and emerging as a trusted global partner. Chugh further emphasized that the government’s focus on self-reliance, reforms, and international cooperation has strengthened India’s position on the global stage, which, he alleged, the opposition finds difficult to accept.
