A Special Mobile Magistrate in Srinagar has directed the registration of an FIR against a resident of Pattan following multiple complaints accusing him of deceiving several women on the false promise of marriage.
Taking serious note of the allegations, the court observed that the complaints reveal a pattern of fraud and involve cognizable offences that warrant immediate investigation.
According to official sources, the accused is alleged to have repeatedly misled women by promising marriage, only to later back out after gaining their trust.
The Magistrate, while issuing directions for the FIR, emphasized the gravity of the matter, noting that the repeated nature of the alleged acts points towards a deliberate and systematic attempt to exploit victims.
The police have been instructed to initiate a thorough investigation into the case and take appropriate legal action based on the findings.
The case has once again highlighted the need for strict action against individuals misusing trust under the guise of marriage.
