JAMMU: The Jammu & Kashmir Branch (NIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), in collaboration with the Committee for Members in Industry & Business (CMIB), organised a six-hour Continuing Professional Education (CPE) seminar on “Budget 2026 and GST Amendments & Litigations” at ICAI Bhawan, Jammu.
The knowledge-driven seminar drew enthusiastic participation from chartered accountants, tax professionals, and representatives from trade and industry across the region, reflecting the growing need to stay updated with evolving fiscal and taxation laws.
Renowned tax expert and author CA (Dr.) Girish Ahuja delivered an in-depth analysis of Budget 2026, breaking down key amendments in direct tax provisions and explaining their practical implications for businesses and professionals. His session focused on compliance strategies, tax planning opportunities, and risk management approaches, offering clear and actionable insights for practitioners navigating the post-budget landscape.
Adding further depth to the discussions, CA Aanchal Kapoor spoke extensively on the latest GST amendments and emerging litigation trends. She provided practical guidance on handling GST assessments, departmental proceedings, and compliance challenges, helping attendees better understand the changing regulatory environment.
The technical sessions were moderated by CA Jatin Malhotra, Secretary of the Branch, who ensured an engaging and interactive exchange between speakers and participants.
In his presidential address, CA Sourav Pargal, Chairman of the J&K Branch, emphasised the importance of continuous professional education in today’s dynamic tax regime. He underscored the necessity for members to remain well-informed about legislative changes and reiterated the Branch’s commitment to organising high-quality, knowledge-centric programmes aimed at professional excellence.
The seminar concluded with a formal vote of thanks by CA Amit Gupta, Vice-Chairman of the Branch.
CA Sanchit Aggarwal, Treasurer, along with Executive Members CA Ayush Sawhney and CA Ayush Mahajan, were also present on the occasion.
