New Delhi, March 10: Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh on Monday released the Manual of Security Instructions 2026, a comprehensive document designed to strengthen security protocols within the Ministry of Defence and address the evolving security environment.

The new manual was unveiled during a function held at South Block in New Delhi. According to the Ministry of Defence, the document outlines detailed security guidelines aimed at enhancing vigilance and maintaining strict security discipline across departments and establishments under the ministry.

Officials said the manual has been prepared keeping in view the rapidly changing security scenario and emerging threats. The ministry added that the guidelines will be updated periodically to ensure they remain relevant to evolving challenges.

Addressing the gathering, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh stressed the importance of strict adherence to security procedures by all officers and personnel. He noted that maintaining a robust security framework is essential in the face of increasingly complex security challenges.

Singh emphasised that officers and security staff must rigorously follow the prescribed protocols to ensure the safety and integrity of sensitive information and installations within the ministry.

The Defence Secretary also appreciated the efforts of the ministry’s Security Office for compiling the detailed document and bringing together comprehensive security instructions in a single manual.

He urged officials and security personnel to ensure effective implementation of the guidelines, stating that the updated manual would play a key role in maintaining a secure and disciplined environment within the Ministry of Defence.
