Srinagar, April 10: In a significant move aimed at strengthening Kashmir employment support, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday distributed appointment orders to 90 beneficiaries under SRO-43 and the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS) at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC).
The appointments, granted on compassionate grounds, are intended to provide relief to families who have lost their primary breadwinners, reflecting the government’s continued focus on humanitarian support through Kashmir government appointments.
Addressing the gathering, Omar Abdullah acknowledged the emotional weight behind such moments, emphasizing that these appointments come in the wake of personal tragedy. “While no job can replace the loss of a loved one, we want you to know that the government stands shoulder to shoulder with you in your time of need,” he said, underlining the symbolic and practical importance of these compassionate appointments.
The Chief Minister highlighted the transition from the earlier SRO-43 framework to the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme, noting that the shift is designed to address longstanding delays and inefficiencies.
