JAMMU, April 10: Director of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Jammu, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, today conducted an inspection of the Central Food Store at Bikram Chowk to assess stock availability, storage systems, infrastructure, and overall maintenance of the facility.
During the visit, the Director reviewed the stock position of food grains, examined official records, inspected the functioning of CCTV surveillance systems, and evaluated the cleanliness of the storage godowns. He stressed the importance of maintaining proper storage standards to safeguard departmental stocks and ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Issuing strict directions to the concerned Supervisor and Storekeepers, he called for comprehensive cleanliness across the entire premises, including godowns, office spaces, and adjoining areas.
He placed special emphasis on hygiene, proper stacking of materials, removal of obsolete and unserviceable items, and systematic maintenance of records and inventory. The Director also directed immediate repair and renovation of damaged portions of the godowns to prevent any loss or damage to stored ration supplies.
Highlighting the importance of regular inspections and timely upkeep, he underscored the need for sustained cleanliness and infrastructure maintenance to ensure efficient storage and dispatch of ration supplies.
