KATHUA, MARCH 02: As part of the ongoing Women Week campaign, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, on Monday visited Parisha and the One Stop Centre to review their functioning and assess the range of services being provided to women beneficiaries.

During his visit to Parisha, the Deputy Commissioner evaluated the facilities available at the centre and examined the support services extended to women, particularly those facing distress. He interacted with the staff and reviewed the grievance redressal mechanism in place to ensure timely and effective assistance.

Emphasizing the importance of sensitivity in dealing with such cases, the DC stressed prompt response, strict confidentiality and a compassionate approach while handling matters related to women’s welfare.

At the One Stop Centre, he reviewed the assistance and interventions being carried out under various women-centric schemes. He examined records of cases handled by the centre, including counselling services, legal aid support, medical assistance and referral mechanisms provided to affected women.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to intensify outreach and awareness initiatives to ensure that more women are informed about and benefit from the support services available at these centres.

Chief Planning Officer Ranjeet Thakur and District Social Welfare Officer Varun Chaudhary accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the visits.
