JAMMU, Feb 15: An avalanche blocked the Bhaderwah–Pathankot inter-state road in Doda district on Sunday evening, leaving several vehicles stranded and disrupting traffic movement.
Superintendent of Police, Bhaderwah, Vinod Sharma, said the avalanche struck the stretch between Thanthera and Guldanda, approximately 18 kilometres from Bhaderwah town, at around 5 pm.
No casualties were reported in the incident. The officer said that a few dozen vehicles, mostly belonging to local vendors, were stranded following the blockage.
Authorities have deployed men and machinery at the site, and efforts are underway to clear the road and restore traffic at the earliest.
