Indore, Mar 18: At least seven people were killed after a powerful explosion at an electric car charging point triggered a massive fire outside a three-storey house in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, early Wednesday morning, police said.

According to officials, an electric car was being charged outside the residential building when a sudden explosion occurred at the charging point. The blast ignited the vehicle, and the flames quickly spread to the three-storey house.

During the incident, several cooking gas cylinders kept inside the house also exploded, further intensifying the fire and causing extensive damage to the building.

Emergency services rushed to the spot soon after the incident, and rescue operations were launched to control the blaze and search for victims trapped inside the structure.

Police confirmed that seven people lost their lives in the tragic incident. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the explosion and the sequence of events that led to the deadly fire.
